Date: August 29 & 30, 2011 Attendance: 350, waitlist
The focus of this one and half day conference was to increase awareness of the impact of violence and trauma in communities and identify effective community solutions integrating a trauma informed approach. This was done so through the lenses of prevention and early intervention efforts, cultural proficiency, and cross-sector partnerships. The conference planning team was committed to clearly defining and integrating the importance of healing throughout the conference. Their desire from the beginning was to connect the dots to be explicit in processing the wellness element of the conference. Additionally, this conference served as an avenue to share successes and challenges across the southern regions and throughout California.
